Very few players made as much of a splash during July after coming from relative obscurity as Smigielski did. The 6'2 sharpshooter from LaVergne HS really took his game to the next level at the Adidas Atlanta Summer Kickoff, drilling 7 threes against the Carolina Celtics, and 4 treys in two other games. But it's Matt's toughness and physical play that, combines with his outside shot, has really drawn the attention of mid major coaches. Matt continues his high level play at AAU Nationals in Orlando, and more recently at the TNprephoops Showcase on Oct 21st. Matt projects as a key recruit for a mid major program needing not only a shooter, but a kid that will bring intensity and toughness to their squad.
